Featuring a carefully chosen, solid German Spruce top and solid Cypress back and sides, the Rodriguez Model FF guitar is a beauty to behold and play.
The headstock is made of Indian rosewood, the neck is Honduras Mahogany reinforced with Ebony, and the fingerboard is ebony. An Indian rosewood bridge, bone nut and saddles enhance the ringing tone and sustain.
Nickel-plated tuners and Silver-plated frets are installed to last a lifetime. The body binding and wood rosette are exquisite. Each Rodriguez Guitar is hand crafted and glued to create precise balances.
The tone, resonance and beauty of fine guitars are all dependent upon the wood from which they are made. The wood used in the construction of Rodriguez guitars is carefully chosen and aged to guarantee the highest quality. No wood is purchased before the tree has been cut down, and at least 2 years must elapse before the tree is turned into lumber.
The wood has to be well cut from the log. The grain must be close and absolutely vertical. The shop is totally free from humidity. Each Rodriguez guitar features a multi-colored wood rosette, as exquisite as the sounds that issue from it. Their intricacy and beauty signify the attention to detail that characterizes every Rodriguez guitar.
For backs and sides, Rodriguez uses Brazilian Rosewood and Indian Rosewood (Jacaranda). Brazilian Rosewood has a beautiful color and design, making it ideal for an elegant concert classic guitar.
For the neck, Rodriguez uses cedar from Honduras as preferred over heavy Mahogany. There are many kinds of Cedar, as the name is used on so many continents. The Honduras Cedar used is very hard and stiff, but at the same time, light. Necks are reinforced with 2 Ebony strips on the underside of the fingerboard to give total rigidity and to eliminate movement cased as a result of the aging of the guitar.

The Rodriguez FF guitar has a quality solid German Spruce top and, when combined with the solid East Indian Rosewood back and sides, give this guitar a great balanced tone. The braces inside the guitar are carefully sanded and very smooth to the touch.
All grain in the Rosewood is very close to vertical and the top wood grain is close to perfection as well. All wood in this guitar is carefully chosen and is aged for a minimum of 2 years before it is turned into lumber.
Tuners feel very solid and are of good quality. The rosette in very beautiful and adds class to this quality instrument.
The combination of tone woods used in the Rodriguez FF guitar give it good character and the notes played in the lower register are quite good. The note played in the higher register are a bit thin, but this would most likely improve as the guitar is "played-in" and ages a bit more.
When the Rodriguez FF arrives, you will find that there is no need to adjust the action at either the nut or the saddle, which is typical of the Spanish makers. They do pay attention to detail. This too can be adjusted slightly if your playing style is a bit different from "standard". That is if you tend to play with a bit less volume - go ahead and lower the action a bit.
All classical guitars are quite fragile and should not be abused, but this guitar is made in a shop that is free of humidity and that will help guard against cracks due to poor humidity control. With this as well as any quality guitar, insure that humidity is kept as constant as possible with humidifiers in the winter and de-humidifiers in the summer.
The neck is of the Rodriguez FF is constructed of Honduras Cedar, which is very stiff and tough. Also, the neck is reinforced with (2) Ebony strips on the underside of the fingerboard, which eliminate neck movement.
Rodriguez is a quality luthier and stands behind any defects in their instruments. If no abuse is involved, your guitar will be repaired without any question. Also all vendors listed herewith will give you an additional warranty on these fine instruments.
The Rodriguez FF is a pleasure to play and very impressive to look at. From the moment you pick it up, you can feel the quality in this finely detail guitar. Rodriguez guitar construction has been handed down from generation to generation and that certainly shows with their guitars.
Being that the Rodriguez FC is built from fine woods that are solid and not plywood, the wood is book matched perfectly and the guitar is put together with care, you can plan that this guitar will age very nicely and have a great voice in years to come.
I would highly recommend this guitar to the aspiring student or a semi-pro, looking to move up.
