PRS Perfection Within Reach The Paul Reed Smith SE Singlecut features a maple top with flamed maple veneer, and is available in translucent finishes. These new models come with solid mahogany backs and necks and provide a level of quality not seen in guitars in this price range.
Wide Fat Neck The Wide Fat neck of the Paul Reed Smith SE Singlecut has the same nut width as the Wide Thin neck but has a big comfortable profile, similar to PRS's Regular neck. Because of its strength and longer "heel," the Wide Fat neck produces warm tones with lots of sustain in the Paul Reed Smith SE Singlecut.
PRS Stoptail Bridge Designed to take full advantage of the resonant properties of their guitars, PRS's Stoptail Bridge provides direct transmission of string vibration to the guitar body and makes set-up a breeze. First used in 1991 on the PRS Dragon I guitar, it now appears on almost half of all PRS guitars sold. This bridge features slots that recess the strings comfortably as they pass over the top, in a gentle curve. Although it is pre-compensated for modern string gauges, fine-tuning is possible by adjusting the set screws at each end of the bridge.
Paul Reed Smith SE Singlecut Available Colors The Paul Reed Smith SE Singlecut is available in Cherry Sunburst, Gray Black, and Tobacco Sunburst finishes. Finish PRS finishes their instruments with a polyester basecoat and acrylic urethane topcoat. Acrylic urethane looks and feels the closest to the old nitro-cellulose finishes but without the finish checking.
From the quality of wood to the great-looking design of the Paul Reed Smith SE-SingleCut you can immediately tell there is a great deal of attention to detail with these beautiful guitars.
The color combinations are almost limitless and each one compliments the beautiful choise of curly or tiger maple appointments that is used in each of these guitars.
PRS uses their own design for tuning machines and the tuning operations is effortless with smooth action and no "wiggle". These are quality tuners that will make your guitar stay in tune.
I would prefer a solid Ebony fingerboard to the Rosewood. Ebony IS available on the upper priced models and as well worth the extra money to get it.
The finish as the above pictures represent, is flawless and mirror-like. The Paul Reed Smith SE Singlecut is very beautiful indeed.
PRS has used, in my estimation the one of best available pickup systems for electric guitars - the Humbuckers.. The Humbuckers are fantastic and I would expect nothing less from pickups of this quality.
For the bass-side pickups they used Humbuckers, but of their own design. Interesting concept that produces a very nice, balanced tone. I love it!
Right out of the box the Paul Reed Smith SE Singlecut guitar just felt good. The action was perfect, as was the intonation and harmonics.
My personal preference does not lean to PRS's use of their "Fat Neck". While some guitarist's may prefer this, I would be much happier with a slimmer and faster neck.
The Paul Reed Smith SE-SingleCut is built like a tank with all quality materials. Form the woods used for the body and neck to the tuning machines and hardware. Very impressive.
This guitar will take a beating on the road and still give you many years of service.

The Paul Reed Smith SE SingleCut is a beautiful lower-cost alternative to the Gibson Les Paul Studio Line. While not a lot less money, you will find that you can save at least several hundred dollars between the PRS and the Gibson.
From the curley maple top to the mahogany back, this guitar is great looking and great sounding. Finish is perfect and the quality of construction in very evident.
The combination ofHumbucker pickups and PRS-designed bass humbuckers perform flawlessly and gives this guitar amazing sound and versatility.
If you are an intermediate music student or beginning professional guitarist, this guitar will more than meet anything you want to tackle. I give the Paul Reed Smith SE Singlecut very high marks.
