Guitar String Lubricants
Guitar String Lubricants | Reviews of Fast-Fret by GHS, Fingerease, Dr. Stringfellow String Lube and Dr. Duck's Axe Wax.
A special caution here on guitar string lubricants and string cleaners. These products are primarily used on steel string guitars.
While you will see some some advantages for using the cleaners on classical guitars, you do not experience the same rusting and corrosion woes with the silver wrappings on the Classical Guitar Strings.
If you wish to extend the life of your strings, using a cleaner and lubricant can be one of the most significant maintenance operations you can perform on your guitar.
I have always used cleaners and conditioners on my acoustic and electric guitar strings and do so to this day.
While both the string lubricants and the string cleaners claim they can do both, you will not experience quite the same extended life of your strings with just one pro dust vs using a cleaner and a lubricant.
Fast Fret String Cleaner by GHS: Fast Fret is a widely used product which extends the life of your guitar strings. Just glide it on with the applicator and wipe it off with the provided lint-free cloth. It keeps your strings extremely clean and allows you to play faster.
Fast Fret by GHS: GHS Fast-Fret String Cleaner cleans your musical instrument strings, brightens your sound, and prolongs fingerboard life while letting you play faster than you ever imagined!
Convenient applicator and cloth. For all stringed instruments. I really like the self-contained applicator on this product. It is non-aeresol based and I love that aspect of it as well.
I always have some of this product laying around and alternate use with cleaners and FingerEase.
I have used Fingerease since I was a kid and love it. It has saved me a ton of money. This only bad thing that I really dislike about it is that it is an aerosol can and being basically a green sensitive person,
I dislike that aspect of it. If that does not bother you, it is a great product. I still keep a can of this product in my guitar case. Gives you lots of zip and slip in your playing and can cure a sticky neck.
Kyser Dr Stringfellow String Cleaner: Fast Fret is a widely used product which extends the life of your guitar strings. Just glide it on with the applicator and wipe it off with the provided lint-free cloth. It keeps your strings extremely clean and allows you to play faster.
Kyser Dr Stringfellow String Cleaner: Dr. Stringfellow is another great lubricant that has some a lot of great features that I love.
Firstly, it is a pump applicator rather than aerosol spray and that spells good for the environment with me. Even with today's improved ozone sensitive aerosol products, they don't completely eliminate the ozone depletion problem.
Dr. Stringfellow, again is mainly a lubricating product and for aerosol cleans and lubricates strings and not only prolongs string life by protecting against skin acids and other wear, but also makes for easier fingering. Dr. Stringfellow is safe for any wood finish.
U.S. made with U.S. materials. Pleasant Fragrance. Not an aerosol spray - safe for the ozone.
Full directions on the back of the bottle with the above logo printed on the front.
Cleans and lubes bridge saddles and fine tuners on locking tremolo systems. Lubes tuning machine knobs and posts.
Unsurpassed as a raw wood conditioner... (fingerboards, bridges, etc..). A MUST to protect your instrument in all climates - dry or humid.
The ultimate Organic cleaning-polishing-moisturizing formula for all guitars and other musical instruments. Do the entire instrument (fretboard, headstock, front. sides, back, pickguards).
Lubes and restores strings and strap locks. Compliments and enhances the natural beauty of your instrument.
Dr. Duck's Ax Wax is the safest musical instrument cleaning-polishing-moisturizing formula in the World!! VERY FRIENDLY to delicate VINTAGE finishes as well as all modern instruments.
This is quickly becoming my lubricant of choice. I love all of the environmental aspects of it. While being a multi-use product, I still carry some dedicated string lube in my case for those special conditions where I need a really fast fretboard.
